E pluribus unum

Our amazing team of regulars and part-time volunteers are committed to helping others. In addition to formal training in law, mental health, child protection, and elder care, we have personally suffered through mental illness and addiction, domestic violence, homlessness, state-sponsored violence, and wrongful incarceration.  We understand the dynamics of social disfunction and explore creative approaches to resore a community of care that demands fairness and justice for all.

Historically E Pluribus Unum was the de-facto motto of the United States of America for generations from the time of its founding in 1789 from 13 formally independent states, and features 13 letters.  Coincidently it wasn't until passsage of the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution at the  conclusion of our country's blood-soaked civil war that slavery was abolished, and a more perfect union was formed. E Pluribus Unum is latin and means one out of many.  It may sound antiquated, but it still resonates with us today and drives our mission for social justice.  Alone we are powerless, united we are fearless.

Our priorities and programs are community-led and adapt to current events shaped by a legacy of complacency, corruption and abuse of state power and the narrow economic interests that co-opt it to the injury of the larger community.  We draw inspiration from agitators, organizers, and activists of past generations that led civil rights and labor movements and fought against state violence and oppression.  You are encouraged to support our mission with your time, energy and resources and help direct it's goals to strengthen your community.
